Ways To Help

There are many ways to help and support Lola’s Round Table.

The best way is by donations!

Please remember, Lola’s is a Not-For-Profit, not a charity. We are legally not able to provide tax receipts until our application for Charitable Status is approved by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). This can take up to a year or longer as the likelihood of being denied the first time is high.

In the meantime, we have provided Sponsor Packages to choose from as an incentive to donate to Lola’s and help us grow.

Donations are imperative to Lola’s growth and sustainability for the programs we intend to offer.

Some important things that Lola’s needs help to attain with donations are:

An Accessible Respite Home

This home would serve as the main location for weekday respite, weekend respite, overnight respite and a meeting spot for the summer youth program. The intent is that the house would be maintained by our members to develop life skills and independence (cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc.).

Vehicles

Multiple vehicles (vans) will be required to run our programs as we continue to grow in group sizes. We will require vehicles for our pick up and drop off services as well as community activities. We also hope one day we will be able to provide an accessible van to accommodate different support requirements.

Lunch Program

Lola’s would like to provide the opportunity for our members to gain life skills by planning for meals, shopping for ingredients, preparing and cooking meals. The cost of groceries can add up and donations will help us provide this opportunity.

Activity Programs

Lola’s would like to cover the cost of all activities for our programs as our members receive a very limited amount of money throughout the year in order to participate in our programs and covering the cost of their activities will allow them to use their funding for many other opportunities.

Competent and Trained Staff

Staff is what keeps Lola’s running and growing, without staff we would not be able to provide the programs offered to our members.

Innovative Housing

Over the next 10 years Lola’s will be working on ideas and ways to implement affordable and innovative living options for our members as well as members of our community. This will be our most costly service and our biggest goal to achieve.
